Priests around the world face struggles of bringing people to faith in Our Lord Jesus Christ every day . The Covid-19 pandemic has added to their challenges. We do believe God hears our prayers of intercession and on Monday February 1, will you join others around the world in praying for our priests and their desire to bring the Good News of Jesus to all people
Pray by name for Father Rozman, Father Sahd, Bishop Gainer, and priests who have been part of your faith journey .
Pray for faith-filled perseverance as priests minister through this time of pandemic and a renewed spirit of hope and possibility for the Church as the pandemic subsides
There are many ways we can prayerfully support our priests. Here are just a few:
On February 1, some Saint Joseph parishioners will be praying a decade of the rosary on the hour from 8am-8pm for the intentions of our priest
Consider fasting from food or an activity as a sacrifice coupled with your prayed intentions
Ask God to “remind” you as you go about your day to offer a prayer for our priests. He will respond to your request
Attend Mass in person or virtually and offer your prayer intentions for priests around the world
Implore the Saints for their intercession. The Blessed Mother Mary for her sons (see prayer below); Saint Joseph as a role for spiritual fatherhood and Saint John Vianney , patron saint of priests
Prayer for Priests
O Jesus, our great High Priest, hear my humble prayers on behalf of thy priests.
Give them deep faith, a bright and firm hope and a burning love which will ever increase in the course of their priestly life.
In their loneliness, comfort them.
In their frustrations, point out to them that they are needed by the Church; they are needed by souls;
They are needed for the work of redemption.
O Loving Mother Mary, Mother of Priests, take to your heart your sons who are close to you because of their priestly ordination
And because of the power which they have received to carry on the work of Christ in a world which needs them so much.
Be their comfort, be their joy, be their strength, and especially help them to live and to defend the ideals of consecrated celibacy. Amen.
