PARISH TRANSFORMATION SAINT JOSEPH Evangelization Ministry
In our Parish Vision Statement, we commit to the following areas of what it means to be a disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ – Worship, Grow, Serve, Connect, and Give. This week highlights the Saint Joseph Evangelization Ministry.
Evangelization brings people into a relationship with Christ. Each of the five pillars of our parish mission statement provides opportunities to encounter or re-encounter Jesus and to grow in that relationship. While all of our Saint Joseph ministries are committed to growing disciples for Our Lord Jesus Christ, the following currently are part of our Evangelization Ministry.
Alpha - Since September 2016, Saint Joseph has hosted Alpha, an 11 week course that brings people together for conversation as they explore the basics of the Christian faith. Although the Fall Alpha session is underway, look for a Zoom Alpha course beginning in January 2022.
Baptism – Beginning in January 2022, the Baptism Ministry will have a team of 6 mentor families who will accompany families in the process of preparing for the baptism of their child(ren). What better way to help young families engage with the Church than to have other young families who are actively living the Catholic faith support them in their decision for baptism.
RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) - We welcome all who are interested in exploring the Catholic faith, desire to become Catholic or are in need of any Sacrament. Our RCIA process is year–round and can accommodate a variety of schedules. We currently have 10 individuals participating in the RCIA process.
All of these ministries are supported by volunteers who generously share their time in helping others encounter Christ. They too grow in their relationship with our Lord through their service to others and friendships that are made. As a parish we are indeed blessed and grateful for these ministries and all who respond to Jesus’s call to go and make disciples.
