Saint Joseph Parish Families,
We recently received notification from the Diocese of Harrisburg that the basketball season for both boys and girls has been delayed due to Covid – 19. The Diocese will continue to monitor the situation, and they expect to determine by January 8, 2021 if a late winter or spring basketball season will be feasible. We will continue to take guidance from the Diocese for our Saint Joseph Parish Athletic Programs.
Upcoming Opportunity – Town Hall Meeting:
Saint Joseph Athletic Association Survey: In collaboration with the parish, the Athletic Association is working to create a survey to be distributed the week following the “Town Hall” meeting. Its purpose will be to gather information about a potential basketball season, and also to seek feedback regarding a possible weekly Mass offered specifically for all younger families of the parish. The survey will help to determine if this Mass is a viable option – as well as the optimal day of the week, and time, at which it would be celebrated.
Catholic Coaching Workshops: Catholic Coaching Workshops will now be offered for all upcoming athletic seasons. Attendance at one of these workshops will be mandatory for all head coaches, assistant coaches, board members, and coordinators. However, all parents are welcome to attend if they so choose. Both the dates and format of these workshops will be announced once there is more information regarding the athletic seasons themselves.
Thank you for your continued commitment not only to the physical wellbeing of your child or children, but more importantly, for your dedication to the development of their Catholic Faith. May we all work together as a parish community to achieve our mission to grow disciples for the Lord Jesus Christ.
Sincerely,
Reverend Thomas J. Rozman
Due to Covid-19, the Saint Joseph Athletic Association soccer season has been canceled for the fall of 2020.
